That pic of a slim-looking celeb who just gave birth isn’t telling the whole story.


Getting back to one’s pre-baby physique can be frustrating, yet celebs make it look easy. Weeks, sometimes days, after giving birth, they’re photographed looking like they were never pregnant at all.


But take it from Drew Barrymore, an A-lister herself: Bouncing back requires a ton of effort for any mom.


On Instagram, the multi-hyphenate—an actress, director and entrepreneur, just to name a few—spoke candidly about her own struggles with weight and body image.


“I go up and I go down. The rollercoaster of my body is a challenging, but beautiful ride. I made two kids. The single most important purpose for me being on this planet is for them! It is a true miracle I was able to have these two girls. So, whatever the aftermath on my body, well, bring it on!” the mother to Olive, 7, and Frankie, 5, wrote.


Nevertheless, she admitted that she has not always been happy with her appearance and that it “takes so much” for her to look “decent.”


“There have been times I have stood in my closet and just cried. [I] hated getting dressed… I have to eat just right and work my ass off! I cannot fight the fact that I have the propensity to be the Pillsbury dough boy! (Now all I can think about is crescent rolls.)” she lightheartedly revealed.


Drew continued by emphasizing the truth about what celebs have to do to get back in shape.


“DON’T Be fooled by what you see when people are thin right after [having a] baby. Don’t compare yourself to the magazines and the red carpets. If I looked decent on anything I have done since I had my two kids, I have clawed my way there. You can too! However, it is hard to sustain and can take a lot of the joy out of life with food.”


At 45, Drew said she’s now found “balance,” which has helped her be where she is supposed to be, although it’s “not perfect.” She also thanked Marnie Alton, a fitness expert and the founder and CEO of M/BODY studio, who assisted in her preparation for the show “Santa Clarita Diet.”


Drew’s post quickly received a lot of love from Instagram. It currently has almost half a million likes.


“I am in awe of the rawness and honesty! I am so glad this movement is present, of everyone just being real with everyone else! If it were easy, if the ‘miracle’ diets worked, we’d all look like fitness models. The reality is, YOU are exactly who YOU should be, and we need to embrace and remember this ❤️,” replied one user.

We didn’t think it was possible, but we love Drew Barrymore even more after reading her post.
